Penang Laksa


Next, the Penang Laksa. Also known Asam Laksa for tamarind from the Malay. The main uniqueness of this laksa is the tamarind, gives the laksa soup a sour taste. In 2011, CNN Travel rated Penang Asam Laksa as “World’s 50 Best Foods”, ranked at seventh place. Spicy and sour tamarind-based mackerel soup with thick round rice noodles. The ingredient that give a punch for the soup such as lemongrass, chilli and galangal, in Malay its lengkuas. Common garnished like onion that thinly sliced, pineapple slices, cucumber, lettuce, lemon grass, and mint and topped with a tablespoon of “hei-ko” which means prawn paste during served.
